Welcome back to a brand-new school year! It’s wonderful to see familiar faces and meet our new families joining Reception and other classes across the school. We’re delighted you’ve chosen to become part of our Holy Trinity community.
Our school vision, ‘Aim high, Let Your Light Shine’ (Matthew 5:16), feels particularly fitting as we start this fresh chapter together. There’s something special about September – new beginnings, new opportunities, and that lovely buzz of excitement that fills our corridors.
Attendance remains absolutely crucial for your child’s learning journey. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this, and we’re here to support you in getting children to school on time, every single day. Those late marks really do add up and can make it harder for children to settle into their learning. Remember, the legal responsibility for attendance sits with parents, and absence should only happen when a child is genuinely unfit to learn, in exceptional circumstances, or for religious observance.
Keep an eye out for parent meeting dates – we’ll share these next week. These sessions are perfect for meeting your child’s teachers and getting that all-important term overview.
I’ve attached Term Dates and current Diary Dates. Don’t forget to check all the dates when planning any family events!
Please note – we have 2 long weekends (6th /7th Oct and 28th Nov/1st Dec) where school is closed due to staff training and the occasional day.
We look forward to a successful term!
Attendance Guidance – the DFE has published new guidance for attendance. Please see the new policy, letter for parents and carers and information sheet.

‘Letting Our Lights Shine’ – celebrating success
We have a number of ways in which we support and celebrate pupils’ achievement and encourage them in all aspects of our school life. Our vision of ‘Aim high, let your light shine’ from Matthew 5:16 threads throughout the work of the school. You may not be aware of all of them so I thought it might be useful to highlight them.
Also, if your child takes part in an activity out of school and wishes to share this, please let us know. We would be delighted to share this in school in either classes or during assembly times.
Special Mentions – children are chosen from each class to receive a certificate for something they have done which could be part of their learning, or somethings showing our values.
Hot Choc Friday – is a reward for pupils who have been particularly showing our school values and ‘letting their lights shine’. One child from each class will join me for a hot choc (or suitable alternative) and a biscuit. As well as rewarding amazing behaviour it is a lovely way for me to share the children’s news and their ideas.
Book suitcases – these are provided to support reading, for one child per class to take home. They contain everything children need to have a lovely book experience with their families: books; blanket; cuddly; hot chocolate sachets and biscuits.
Super readers – in each class one child is chosen per class (when they have read every day) to wear a funny hat in collective worship and for the rest of the day. This is to promote and encourage regular reading.
Reminder Parking
Please make sure you are taking care when driving near the school gates and in Longlands Close. We have had a number of complaints about poor driving. Also, please do not block the gates when you drop the children at school as we do have staff members and visitors using the gates. It would be awful of there was an accident.
School Uniform
All items of clothing including shoes must be labelled with the child’s name. Children must not wear jewellery. No make-up including nail varnish. Children with pierced ears may wear the smallest studs. Hair bands should be in school colours and not be too big or bulky. If your child has pierced ears, she/he must be able to remove and replace the studs herself/himself for PE.
