School Governor Information
Governors are a vital part of our school. The Governors bring a range ofexperiences and skills from many walks of life. They work as a team toensure that the pupils in Holy Trinity School are given the best possibleeducation in order to achieve their full potential and ‘let their lightshine’. One of the key priorities is raising the standards of our school.The role of the governing body is to support the head teacher and staff inensuring that our children receive a high standard of education in asupportive and inclusive environment. In practical terms, this means makingdecisions with regard to a wide range of policies and tracking the progressand direction taken by the school. The actual day to day running of theschool is the responsibility of the head teacher. The full governing bodymeets once each term. All governors are linked to a curriculum area, and theFinance and Premises Committee also meets termly.

Governor’s Safeguarding Statement
The Governors of Holy Trinity CE School have made safeguarding an essential priority and are committed to make sure that the safeguarding of their children remains central to their work. For this reason, the principles of excellent safeguarding practice are interwoven within the Christian culture of Holy Trinity and every aspect of the school’s work. This policy supports this commitment to safeguarding and should be read in conjunction with all school policies as appropriate.
It is every person’s responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and it remains a principal concern to everyone within the school community.
Governor’s Equality Statement
Our school has the motto “Aim High – Let your light shine’ because everyone is seen as so valuable in God’s eyes that everyone must be supported and encouraged to be the very best they can be. We are a fully inclusive school where no one will or can be left behind.
At Holy Trinity School we believe in the concept of lifelong learning and the idea that both adults and children learn new things every day. We maintain that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone; it should be fun.
The primary aim of the school is to help each pupil reach his or her full potential so that they may develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge to take full advantage of the opportunities available in their future lives.
At Holy Trinity CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for disabled pupils, staff and all those receiving services from the school. We aim to develop a Christian culture of inclusion and diversity in which people feel free to disclose their disability and to participate fully in school life. The achievement of disabled pupils and students will be monitored and we will use this data to raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching. We will make reasonable adjustments to make sure that the school environment is as accessible as possible. At Holy Trinity CE Primary School, we believe that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here.
GDPR – Data protection law
The ‘General Data Protection Regulation’ (GDPR) will change how we can use your personal data and keep it safe, and will also strengthen your rights over your own data. The point of this is to make sure sensitive or private information about yourselves and your children stays safe. Whilst it is similar to the current Data Protection Act in many ways, there are a few differences, so we need to make a few changes to our privacy notices in order to ensure we remain compliant. We have updated our privacy notices and policies in line with the changes. These notices have been sent out to parents and carers.
